Abstract

Uterus didelphys with unilateral obstructed hemivagina is a very rare congenital anomaly due to Mullerian duct malformation. The most common clinical symptoms consists of dysmenorrhea beginning shortly after menarche and progressive pelvic pain, in association with the finding of a paravaginal or pelvic mass. An accurate and prompt diagnosis followed by excision and marsupialization of the obstructed hemivagina offers complete relief of symptoms and preserves reproductive capacity. We report a case of uterus didelphys with obstructed hemivagina and ipsilateral renal agenesis with a brief review of the literature.
